Otaku

A Japanese subculture of people with consuming interests in hobbies that lie at the juncture of science and fantasy, especially media, productions, and pastimes such as anime, manga, video games, virtual reality, and cosplay. - from Wikipedia's definition of "otaku"

I have a particular fondness for otaku culture (and honestly, Japanese culture as a whole interests me). Here you can see my collection of things I am currently watching/reading, what I have watched/read, and what I eventually plan on getting around to (I am quite slow at this, I have other things going on). Occasionally may post reviews or opinions on said works.

anime

manga

visual novels

Hobby I've been getting into more recently. First exposure to the medium proper was the sound novel series Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (Higurashi When They Cry or simply When They Cry). Wonderfully humorous and tragic and beautiful. Currently reading its follow up: Umineko no Naku Koro ni (Umineko When They Cry). Both novels are written by Ryukishi07 and produced by the doujin circle 07thExpansion.
I have a plethora of other works that I am planning to read in the near future but currently Umineko has taken up all of my time and is my sole obsession.
